Hok Mountain Packages
From: $339.96We have put the Hok Mountain Package together based on our rather unexpected use (and pleasure) of the Hok for more mountain and downhill skiing. This peaked on a backcountry hut trip in British Columbia where a bunch of us went out the last day with Hoks and about 16 inches of new cold snow. There was a lot of shorter terrain near the lodge that we were restricted to because of time, so the Hoks made sense as the turnaround was so quick. We all used Tiaks, the single poles used by skiers in the Altai mountains and used by all skiers (yes, all) before the 20th century. The Tiaks give the rather short Hoks excellent fore/aft stability, something short skis generally lack. Turning and skiing was effortless and SO MUCH FUN…..What the Package includes:
– The Hok ski, either in the 125cm or the 145cm length.
– Our Voile HD 3pin binding with all screws and custom heel pieces to fit the threaded inserts in the Hoks (no drill mounting).
– A Tiak (single pole) either Medium (6ft.) or Large (7 ft.).
Normal price for this combination would be $378.45(with the Tiak shipping cost). Package price is $339.96
– Add the Alpina Montana boots
Normal non package price would be $573.40 (with Tiak shipping cost). Package price is $519.95
– Add the Alpina Alaska boots
Normal non package price would be $678.40 (with Tiak shipping cost). Package price is $610.23
– Add the Alico Boots
Normal non package price would be $593.40 (with Tiak shipping cost). Package price is $529.98
– Add the Scarpa T4 Boots
Normal non package price would be $817.45 (with Tiak shipping cost). Package price is $749.95
All package prices includes shipping – we waive the normal $8 dollar oversized box charge for the Tiaks in this package.
To add a boot click on the X in front of the “Add” to make that model part of the package. This will give you the drop down menu of sizes.

Tiak
$44.75Tiak means stick in the Altai Mountains, but when really skiing the Hoks, the Tiak is way more then just a stick, it is truly a game changer. This is particularly true if one is keen to do some downhill skiing with the Hoks. There are 2 stock sizes, 6 ft. and 7 ft. The pole should be 6 inches or taller than your height. We cut these in the local mountains (lodgepole pine) then hand peal and finish them here.

3 Pin Cable 75mm Binding
$149.75I have been using the 3 pin cable since it came out in the 1980s. The binding is light, sturdy and reliable. One can tour with it in the free flexing 3pin mode (either unbuckle the cables or take them off),or lock in the cables for the more secure and powerful downhill mode. Add to this a double attachment for increased reliability in the backcountry and a weight of only 12 oz per ski and you have the ideal backcountry binding. We highly recommend this for the Kōm ski.
If you plan to use the 3 pin cable on the Hoks please specify in the note section of your order and we will substitute the heel kit with the appropriate M6 screws for the inserts.

3 Pin Binding (75 mm) – includes Heel Kit
$83.7575mm binding (3 pin) with custom heel pieces and screws. The bindings are made by Voile and customize with our logo. We also include all machine screws (M6) needed to attach the binding and the heel pieces. The heel piece is design for the Hok, and can rotate between 3 inserts to fit any size 75mm (3 pin) boot.
NEW VERSION! The narrow version refers to the bail height when closed. The Alpinas and similar boots have a thinner toe tab(the duck bill) so the narrrow version gives them a tighter fit in the binding when latched down.

Climbing Wire for custom heel pieces
$9.95These climbing wires fit with our custom no drill heel pieces that are used with the 3pin or 3pin cable bindings. Like the heel pieces, the wires are adjustable to fit all boot sizes. There are 3 slots in the base of the heel piece as well as the two positions (via the inserts) for the heel pieces on the Hok. The heel wire adds about 15mm in height.

Heel Piece Kit – 3Pin- For Hoks
$21.50We are big fans of the 3 pin (75mm ) system. This boot and binding combination is sturdy, offers great ski control, is light, and tours really well. They are also plentiful and inexpensive. If you have some plastic 3 pin tele boots or classic old leather Asolos or Merrells (or Fabiano’s, Scarpas, Heierlings, Alicos…) and some 3 pins, Hoks are a great way to put them to use. For this we are offering a Heel Kit. The kit includes two of our custom heel pieces, designed to use with inserts in the ski for no drill mounting, and adjustable to fit any size 3 pin boot. Along with the heel pieces, the kit includes all the machine screws for mounting your 3 pins and heel pieces, along with a packet of threadlocker to keep the screws from loosening in the inserts. We also include a #3 Phillips driver bit, the correct size for all our inserts screws. Screw size is M6 (6 mm) and lengths are 16 mm for the heel pieces and 12 mm for the toe pieces. This is an inexpensive and effective way to get going on a pair of Hoks.

Adapter Plates (Sold In Pairs) – now 2 Versions
$39.95 – $44.95The original Adapter Plate lets you mount Rottefella NNN BC(Magnum) bindings on the Hoks without drilling the skis. The adapter plates come with the screws for mounting the plate to the Hoks. Manufacturer supplied binding screws mount the binding to the plate.
The original version can also be used for other bindings like the Berwins and Solomon XAdventure
For the New Version (Version 2) we added some hole patterns for the new Xplore binding from Rottefella and some 4 hole tele bindings from Voile. It will still adapt the NNN BC bindings and some other 3 hole bindings.

Scarpa T4 Boots
$459.00Scarpa introduced the T4 a few years ago and it caught our attention immediately for its light weight and tour friendly design. I bought a pair for my girlfriend Lisa, and she loved the fit and feel right out of the box. I had a chance to test them last year as well, and found them light (for an all plastic boot) and comfortable to ski and tour in. Downhill control with the 145 Hoks was more then enough and in testing the T4 with our new ski, the Kōm, it seemed a near perfect fit. Francois and I went back and forth on the pros and cons of carrying boots (lots of sizes…)and decided it was such a good match for the Kōm, as well as for the more adventurous Hok users, we would go for it.
